The Dragon & Rainbow
...our oldest of stories
This morning I was reminded eclipse season had begun when I came across an excerpt from a book called The Dragon and the Rainbow: Man’s Oldest Story. The thesis is that dragons come from rainbows. Admittedly, I have never made the connection—not even when exploring the Rainbow Serpent. When eclipses are near, it is the season, and it always provides yet another insight into the nature of the dragon.
I’ve always been curious about dragons, asking questions like: Why are they so different between the East and West? Why are Western tales about slaying and many others around the world about respecting and harnessing their powers? Are they simply residual memories of dinosaurs or a long-lasting conspiracy about dinosaur bones? And what about in astrology, where the Nodes of the Moon relate to a dragon that snacks on the lights every six months? I’ve always had so many questions. I’ve also had my own experiences, which only spawn more and more questions.
But think about it: Dragons are associated with waterfalls and pools of water—~rainbows! Thunder and lightning~rainbows! They bring the rain and then consume the oceans as they dive back in—rainbows. The image of the ouroboros should also resemble the rainbow serpent because obviously, the rainbow is the back of a dragon wrapped around the earth, with its head and tail somewhere unseen, yet always happening. It’s a wonderful idea, and in this book, it seems quite serious. Erudite, well-researched, for the discount price of just $100 (so you know it’s academic).
Anyways, I just love eclipse season. I always learn something new about dragons. It helps to deepen my relations to the Nodes and the nature of eclipses as well. I hope it does the same for you.

Any plans for where you will be during these eclipses Adam?
I’m loving this turn of the wheel, and the endless questions and possibilities arising. I started seeing the rainbow spectrum everywhere last spring first when I was walking through a wild field of tall green grasses. I saw that it wasn’t actually green, but rather a rainbow on the green ribbon of the spectrum. Been working with a beautiful piece of Rainbow Obsidian for about a year now. Brought it to the Garden of Peace with me…Blown away by all that Mother natures elemental beings have to teach us. Chiron showed up too🙏🏽 Can’t believe how intimate my relationship with these beings, gods, planets have deepened throughout the years. Can’t believe I even knew it was Chiron showing up🗝️🤷🏽♀️. Blessings stepping into this dragon hole! Thanks for all of the attunements, alignments and initiations over the past 7ish years. ✨🙏🏽✨
