I loved both of those books and have given both of them to my son for various birthdays or Christmases along with Finding the Mother Tree. Phupowee is a word he might have made up as a toddler... 😁 but I've never thought about it in terms of ideas that stay underground for a long time before burst forth and disseminate. I like it. Often we are impatient with ideas and want to bring them out prematurely - and then they wither in the light of day.

you have gifted them more than once to your son? haha And yeah, I love thinking about ideas in this way—transits as well. Fungal analogies are fun to work with.

Whoops - that came off wrong. Braiding Sweetgrass for one birthday. The other 2 for another occasion. Cool analogy nonetheless - and wonderful books all.

just giving you a hard time. They are good ones. Great presents—especially if you gift Entangled Life with an oyster liquid culture so they can turn it into a mushroom at the end.

Ha! Well this is my kid who grew mushrooms in college (in Colorado) as an ecology major under the cover story of growing gourmet mushrooms for the dining hall. The books weren't exactly out of the blue gifts.

this is now the kid I know I would get on with the best. Anyone who is interested in mycology is usually a friend of mine. Some topics work this way. Unfortunately, it's not the case with astrology haha
