There is much talk and fear about the upcoming Mars/Pluto conjunction in the first degree of Aquarius on V-day. Concern is warranted, but never is it a good idea to let it get the best of us. The two rulers of Scorpio have much to do with power, and it is our job to understand how to harness it in proactive ways.
In the lead-up, we see those exiled from Gaza and Ukraine and countless other lands; we see them at our borders and we fight on what to do about it. Most did not choose this forced banishment—though, I’m sure some did. We can also spot it culturally, where many feel like political refugees, culturally starved, existing in their own kind of exile from the madness of what surrounds them. We can even feel it within our own communities. Welcome to the first decan of Aquarius: a space to explore the edges and what lies beyond the walls of our familiar worlds. It’s a place where we often start from scratch, yet there are many gradients to the exile.
As Mars and Pluto convene here, punk rock can be heard in an enclave of our memories. Radical stories of going out on one’s own populate the space. It’s where we are reminded that we must keep working for the “the man".” knowing there isn’t much we can do but find meaning in the lot we have been given. We long for amor fati! And we will get there, as long as we have a proper understanding of our fate.
There are many ways to take the power back—even in exile. We must start by acknowledging what we can actually change: how we treat others, what we talk about, how we take care of ourselves, and how often we connect with the mystery larger than ourselves is a good starting point. Everything else is beyond the scope. Much of the mundane riles us up, keeping us distracted. In the “big world,” we have little power. Amore fati is trying to track us down, yet we pay no mind.
This is all to say, don’t fear Mars and Pluto. Think about the power that could be possible in your life with where they are they are plotting. To take the power back, we must change. We cannot identify with being a victim of anything. The power vanishes instantly if we do. We must transmute those stories into comedies. With Pluto snaking along this decan for the better part of the decade, we best get into the right relationship to the themes sooner rather than later.
I’ll write more about this on Wednesday. I just wanted to get some thoughts to the page and also say that a few slots are still available in my Apprenticeship program if you want to take your education deeper—to power up—you can click the links below. I’m also giving readings again if you missed that announcement.
Enjoy your Monday and we shall talk soon…
