The Week (or Year) of Goblin Mode
Mars is getting too close for comfort, the Inners find sunset eyes, and competing words of the year explain it all
The words of the year have been announced. According to the Oxford dictionary, the winner is “goblin mode” -a word I assumed was partitioned to crypto degens, but I guess not. And according to Websters, the winner is ‘gaslighting” (which funny enough, was the winner in 2016 as well). Let’s use these to open up the Dragon Hole this week, shall we?
Oxford defines “goblin mode” as “a type of behavior which is unapologetically self-indulgent, lazy, slovenly, or greedy, typically in a way that rejects social norms or expectations.” In the crypto space, I took it more to relate to the insanity created by massively bearish sentiment. Perhaps at the bottom of the ‘bear,’ these self-indulgent behaviors do indeed see an uptick. Lockdowns create it as well. Also the result of digging deeper into pretty much anything these days. The truth makes you want to drink, smoke, doomscroll, and invite in the goblins. When Mars is close, this too can be a response.
Webster’s favorite word, once again, was “gaslighting.” Its origin comes from a play/movie in the 30’s with the same title. The plot of which involves a man attempting to make his partner believe that she is going insane. His mysterious activities in the attic cause the house’s gas lights to dim, but he insists to his wife that the lights are not dimming and that she can’t trust her own perceptions. The dictionary defines it as:
: psychological manipulation of a person usually over an extended period of time that causes the victim to question the validity of their own thoughts, perception of reality, or memories and typically leads to confusion, loss of confidence and self-esteem, uncertainty of one's emotional or mental stability, and a dependency on the perpetrator
The rage this can create when we realize it has been happening to us is incalculable, yet we can often see the results in real-time. No matter which side you are on or whether you are adrift somewhere near the center like most sane people these days, we have all felt it recently. If Covid didn’t do it, then perhaps the elections did; If the Twitter files being released this week didn’t blow your top, then perhaps what comes next will. The peak of the Mars cycle is this Thursday (8th @ 16º Gemini) and the lead-up will continue to be eventful. It’s also the Gemini Full Moon that day, so it will diminish the viewing conditions, but likely increase the emotional tensions.
The Inners also make a couple of moves this week. As Mercury and Venus get more comfortable in the evening sky, they will also ingress into Capricorn (Mercury on the 6th, Venus on the 10th). This maturation process will offer us a more sobering gaze into the institutional rot in front of us. And the closer they get to Pluto moving into the New Year, the more apparent it will become. Ground zero is the USA (ie. Pluto Return) For those hoping for some semblance of calm or normalcy, I’m afraid that train left the tracks long ago. We are left with goblins, lies, and the fundamental questioning of our reality. The next big documentary likely will be called What is Reality? And…there will be more questions than answers by the end of it.
But I am optimistic. We will be saved….right?
(see below: Saturn rising as I write this; The mood is melancholic. I’m sorry for that. I suppose I could have elected a better moment…)
To see what I’ve been referencing, look to Mars in Gemini, then the opposite side of the chart to find the Sun and the Inners. You can also see how the Moon is currently in Taurus sharing old eclipse stories from last month with Rahu and Uranus. Soon, the Moon will be Full right on top of Mars. Read more about the occultation here. That’s the story.
It’s a story in which it’s hard to keep our center in. Because we all feel as if we are being gaslit and the goblins won’t leave us alone, it’s quite easy to lose our heads and allow the vitriol to spew from our mouths or fingers. I have found the best tactic to be saving energy for these battles with those closest to us. Much more is accomplished there than will ever be online.
Mars Rx in Gemini: The Info Wars (no tip of the hat to Mr. Jones); Goblin Town, Gaslight starts fires. However we see it, it’s undeniable. The best we can do is try and keep our cool through it all, and come out the other side stronger. Post-Dec 8th, Mars will begin to wane. Each night dimmer, each day another drop of more energy for us to utilize to translate the Muse. And that there is one helluva reason to stay off social media: It scares the Muse away!
.: a Feather or two :.
To put a feather in one’s cap was originally a way of counting kills. It was humans if you were a warrior or animals if you were a hunter. These days, it’s more of a turn of phrase which celebrates a laudable success. I believe there were two feathers worth mentioning from last week for the world’s cap as both Mercury and Venus approached the Galactic Center praying hard for a moment of Truth (the GC has this revelatory/whistleblower correlation). The first is this:
Again, no matter your feelings about Elon or Twitter, it’s where all the major news has been breaking ever since his takeover. I’ve never seen it so lively and interesting. if you read this thread, your entire worldview could very well melt in the sun like good taffy. I believe they call it “gaslighting?”
And there was also this stunner:
Brett and Heather were shadowbanned, ridiculed, and nearly canceled for their questioning of the mainstream narrative during the pandemic. They had many doctors on their podcast in the early days of all the madness who talked of the efficacy of ivermectin. And then, well, that’s a story from another Mars retrograde in 2020. Have a click and a watch. Another feather indeed.
.: Effective Narcissists :.
I had a friend once who was obsessed with Kanye (Ye, sorry). I never understood it. He-like any Ye fan-argue about his genius and production abilities. I never got it. Plus, I couldn’t see beyond the persona. I admit my fault there. I’ve never been a fan. I don’t trust people like him. The Red King is the same. SBF as well. There is something off in them. It has something to do with where their identity sits with respect to the rest of the universe. The closer to the center, the more insane they seem to become. Anyways, it seems the eyes of the world are finally ready to laugh at something like this:

.: a Flash of Orange :.
Bitcoin has been soaking up all the bad news as of late, fermenting it into more power, and securing the energy for the future. It’s what BTC does best. The fall of SBF is good for Bitcoin. People realize the difference between shitcoins and hard money, leaving your coins on an exchange vs taking custody. They then grok the mantra: Not your keys, not your coins. And so what happened over the past week? The largest outflow of Bitcoin in history from exchanges into cold storage. Incredible news. Also, nobody knows how draconian the regulation is going to be post-FTX, but being what seems most likely if you follow all the receipts, Bitcoin will remain a commodity and the rest, well, they will be deemed securities. The result will be nuclear (not in the green direction). This reminds me to share a wonderful meme (even more silly if you watched your Spotify year in review):
And lastly, a sweet little poem that Open AI created about Bitcoin and Xmas. Hopefully, some medicine was found in here to help with “goblin mode” and the feeling of being “gaslit.” I hope you get a clear view of Mars and the rest this week. These are beautiful skies, even though they seem to be creating chaos below. It’s perfect. Always is.

I must have been lost in space this year with Neptune square my 12th house Sun - because I never heard of goblin mode 😅
