The Secret State of Reverie
...On the current state of Venus & Mercury with their conjunction in mind
“The secret of getting ahead is getting started.”
– Mark Twain
The dream spell is ending. It’s hard to say when it began, but it’s clear about a seachange happening with intimations of something novel being born. I often think of Neptune’s time in Pisces as an interesting thought experiment in this regard (2011-present). So many believed the world was going to end in 2012—or transcend into the 5th world—or the TimeWave reaching zero—but it didn’t. Since then, there have been some serious oddities within the culture emerging though. We have also been taken over by social media since that time. There is definitely a connection between the two. And with Neptune soon to cross that infamous Aries point, it will join the party that Venus and Mercury have already started. They sing, “…those not busy being born or busy dying.” Or something similar…
With both the Inners stationing around the same degree of Aries just before both Neptune and Saturn’s ingress into the same terrain, there seems to be an obvious message here. The way I’m translating it thus far: Find the target, gather your strength, don’t look away, and get ready to pounce.
Venus has been retrograde since the 2nd of this month. She’s been close, high in the West, and bright as she can be before her dive into the underneath. It’s in this part of the greater Venus star when all our connections pertaining to this pushy fire emerge to be re-examined. Symptoms that are obvious: X’s return or we find ourselves down memory lane, dealing with those hotheads, again; the not-so-obvious ones: financial themes coming full circle from 8 years ago, with similar soundtracks, and places teaching us about the nature of this these early degrees of the zodiac. She will remain Rx until a few days before Easter Sunday. Lent is clearly meant to be an inspiration for this cycle. Even if you are not Christian, Jesus’ 40 days in the desert sure does seem similar to the 40 days of a Venus retrograde.
Mercury has yet to station but still lurks in the pre-shadow around similar degrees. With the Rx just a week away (15th; 10 Aries), we should be on high alert for the Idea that is hunting us down—wanting to do the reverse pounce. It’s one of the most remarkable features of a Mercury retrograde. While the world is blaming him for all the tricks, those who know what to look for are getting magical intelligence gifted to them by simply asking the question: What is Mercury trying to show me here? With that simple tweak, not only is our relationship with the magician changed forever, but so too are our minds. Likely, the Idea is meant to bring us more strength and to show us the courage we need to navigate the wildness and battles that lie ahead.
Also, the two of them are set to converge for their perennial conjunction on the 11th at 9 Aries. Is it to be a sunset palaver or sweet words whispered within the early stirrings of Spring? Do the two elevate our experience of the ‘double-inner planet’ retrograde or do they occult each other, canceling each other out for a day or two? We shall see…but what I found hilarious and perfect was the Chandra symbol for the degree of their meeting:
ARIES 9
A fat man in a state of reverie smoking a hookah.
…offering a glimpse of the animus of so many poor souls. Perhaps normal on the outside, a Harkennan-esque blob sits within as the Netflix binge continues with a spliff still burning in the ashtray. Or it’s the curse of abundance. The arrogance of ‘having it all’ and escaping with the questionable drugs into Neptune’s liminal spaces. It’s an image of David Goggins before he started calling himself a bitch. It’s an image of one of the deadly sins. It shows the secret state of reverie which is a burning ember ready to be blown on and turned into flame. In other words, it’s pure inspiration! Nobody aspires to be this man, yet too many are. And there are no shortcuts out of it. No jabs, no pills, just movement and hard work.
So, if you want to get ahead of your peers, best to get started. With Neptune and Saturn not too far behind, there is some serious support here to push any lingering New Year resolutions into the end of the year—or to resuscitate them if they have died already. And as far as the world is concerned, well, it’s still getting used to the meme lords running the show. What it all guarantees is radical change. And as much as we say we want such change, we really don’t. It’s too jarring for some. Even if it’s corrupt institutions, at least they worked….right? The IRS shouldn’t be audited, …right? Or the Pentagon? The FED? The fight will not end on this anytime soon. Best to be as objective as possible and stay out of the ring on such topics—which is near impossible these days, but Mercury does teach us many tactics around diversion.
Personally, I can’t wait. You may have noticed I’ve been slow to create content in 25’. I, too, am in this mutable cloud. It feels like it could remain until they have all turned direct or moved on. I’m not sure. But rest assured, I’m not going anywhere except for deeper inside. It should benefit this Substack rag and the pod. At least that’s the prayer. And I hope it makes what I’m writing or talking about more interesting to you, as well. I can only pray.

I think it’s interesting that Orthodox Easter and Catholic/Protestant Easter are on the same day this year. Pothead Easter as well, actually :)
With a 9 degree Aries Venus and a 5 degree Aries Moon in 3rd (H3) this novice 9 year student of astrology wonders what this eclipse portends for moi? Aside from a torrential rain from Cyclone Alfred hitting the Queensland shores some 600k from me.. all is quiet. Just me and nature... and wet soggy kangaroos. :-) I had to laugh at the symbology of Aries 9.... my kind of humour :-) Though Rudhyar's : A TEACHER GIVES NEW SYMBOLIC FORMS TO TRADITIONAL IMAGES also puts a smile on my face. I simply trust in the process.
