The Narrows
On the Mars/Jupiter situation square Saturn...

I recently came across the idea that the Self has two functions: to heal and to express itself. I’ve had to sit with this one. It felt like a gift from Mercury—in fact, the Idea was delivered during the pre-shadow when he was hinting at the Leo themes to come. So, to heal and to express…it’s a deep ponder.
With Mars conjunct Jupiter today (16º40’ Gemini) it’s quite apparent what we need to heal. The prickly words and hot topic issues spewing out of Mars have become unavoidable. The walls are closing in and the paths and lanes allowed for us to express are narrowing. As the polarity stretches between the two political directions, roads of sanity are harder to find; people’s perspectives seem to be becoming more narrow by the day; the censorship industrial complex grows like cancer, and truth can only squeeze through narrow margins like on X or Nostr or little known decentralized avenues. We can call this the Narrows. It makes it hard to heal or express. The Self is frustrated.
There’s also talk of something else occurring with Jupiter in the near future, and that’s the square to Saturn. It’s the first since the Great Conjunction on the Winter Solstice of 2020. Remember: it ushered in the Age of Air? It’s the First Quarter square, representing a bit of a crisis in the development of all the themes that were conceived with the conjunction: AI, AGI, the metaverse, crypto, CBDC’s, space travel, online censorship etc. At this juncture, I think it’s safe to say that most of us can agree on the question: What is even real anymore?
Cheap fakes and deep fakes make us question our feeds. Fake influencers and fake news leave us disillusioned. It’s a narrowing of our reality tunnels. And say what you will about Elon, but without him, I’m pretty sure it would be worse than we could even imagine. Being a harbinger of this so-called Age of Air, it’s important to compare his moves to the other “Air” moguls, like Gates and Bezos. All of them proclaim to help humanity advance into a better future, yet we all question what that even means. Will neurolink make our lives better? Will retail trips in phallus-shaped rockets be worth the costs? Or how about owning nothing, and trying to remain happy as a few of them tout. Again, this is the narrowing.
To heal in this environment, we must remain politically non-binary with a mind open enough to allow in new information to correct our biases if they are wrong. To express ourselves in this environment is even more of a challenge. Now, wherever we find ourselves on the spectrum, we risk the chance of alienating swathes of people in our lives on another part of it. Depending on where we stand, we also risk falling into an Orwellian nightmare, essentially being deleted. It’s never been this narrow, but at least there is an opening. So, even though the two traditional malefics have Jupiter cornered, there is still hope. The information is out there, we just need to know where to look. Jupiter has laid out all the clues we could ever hope for.
The Jupiter/Saturn cycle is one that shapes societies. It’s been studied for thousands of years by astrologers from all the various branches. Its importance can be seen throughout history, including with the birth of Christ (if you think the Star of Bethlehem indeed was the Jupiter/Saturn conjunction). And so, within this cycle, which we are now a quarter the way through, it’s important to think back to those early Aquarian degrees in late 2020, when everyone was praying for the pandy to end, for the vaxxes to be unleashed, and for life to get back to “normal;” this is where this culture creating cycle began; 200 plus years of Air conjunctions began then! And now, it’s the first square, revealing the crisis’ in many forms—out there and most definitely, in here as well. It’s truly world-changing.
I find myself slightly optimistic about it all. As an example, over a billion people so far have tuned into Elon’s conversation with the Red King despite the threats from the EU and god knows who else. The Information War continues to rage, but at least a battle was won. As a Gemini, my Spirit heals with the free flow of information and finds expression when the waves break. I’m no fan of the Red King, yet I am deeply suspicious of all the tactics being used against him. Let him talk. Let him dig his own grave if that’s his fate. The same is true for all of us. It’s in our speech where we find true freedom. It helps us discover who we really are. It helps us to get closer to the Truth. And if that offends you, you have no sight of the narrow opening. You have likely been fooled.
Find Gemini and Pisces in your chart. You will see them there. Study them. Talk to them. Learn from them. We are in the Narrows for now, and only our speech and the free flow of information can lead us through to the other side.

Very well said Adam. What I love about the fact that we have mutable signs along with cardinal and fixed is that we can always change our minds to change our creation. We always get a chance to create something new. It’s pretty apparent creation is inclusive, containing *all* things and we, as co~ creators of our own lives become empowered creators by allowing and receiving all “sides” to inform us of all possibilities and as you said this is how we receive the opportunity to know who we are as individuals, contained within the whole expressed in the image of the Creator. I love that the Sun in Leo is trine Chiron in Aries while this mutable grand cross is happening. I think it gives us the capacity for a personal revelation. We can see where we harm ourselves by being fixed within our own idea of what “light” is and we miss so much of the receiving of the light by our own projections. You got my mind a pondering which your writing always does, thank you.
Thank you Adam. It has been a wild ride since the Jupiter Saturn cycle began and I have had my understanding of the world completely shattered and inverted and all the rest. It has been a very challenging journey and one that has cost many friendships and my career. But it has been healing and expressive. Thank you having the courage to tentatively and sensitively weigh into the culture war. It’s not nothing to speak up about what you can perceive and sense in the world around you. Even if you’re a white guy and meant to be sitting down and shutting up according to the establishment. As Hannah Arendt wrote so perceptively “the constant lying is not aimed at making the people believe a lie, but at ensuring that no one believes anything anymore. A people that can no longer distinguish between truth and lies cannot distinguish between right and wrong. And such a people, deprived of the power to think and judge, is, without knowing and willing it, completely subjected to the rule of lies. With such a people, you can do whatever you want.” And in a cool synchronicity I read in Orwell this week “don’t you see that the whole aim of newspeak is to narrow the range of thought? In the end we will make thoughtcrime literally impossible,because there will be no words in which to express it”
