On the Jupiter squares to Saturn & Neptune

Just hours before the final square between Jupiter & Saturn for this cycle, there will be hundreds of “No Kings” protests across the US. Interesting, because we do have our Greco-Roman King of the Gods involved here, but also, if you consider the last time the Jupiter/Saturn cycle was happening in Air signs, it was around the time of the Magna Carta—remember King John, and how it was declared, “ No one is above the law—not even the king.” It was a good start, even though that one didn’t stick for long. So here we are, with the “rebel” spirit strong in the airs, with certain realities yet encountered looming like obvious conclusions. We shall see how it plays out.

…Jupiter, the intimation of sovereignty, at odds with Saturn—reality; but also at odds (square) with Neptune, blowing up the collective mind to the brink of popping. It’s exciting, but it’s not what I’m here to talk about. I’m more interested in the King within, and whether he is sick or not. What I’m fascinated by is the idea of self-sovereignty.

To understand either of these squares properly, we must know where they began, which was here:

For Jupiter/Saturn, it was the Solstice of 20’: pandemic madness; For Jupiter/Neptune, it was Spring of 22’: Putin’s invasion and Powell’s aggressive hiking cycle. Both times were inflationary, in Jupiter’s terms, but most importantly, it was the beginning of their respective planetary cycles. So with these two squares on the horizon, it’s the first big crisis moment in the context of their dances. I think a “No Kings” movement fits the bill, yet what’s fascinating to me is that in this Age of Air we are now in, it really does seem that the new King isn’t going to be as material as the Red King or the Sick King at all. It’s going to be some kind of AI King. You know it. I know it. We all know it. It will be much stranger than we can imagine.

[as I was writing that last paragraph, I was rudely interrupted by Israel launching strikes on Iran. So now, we have this escalation to toss into the mix. Terrifying. And now, we remember how to pray as the three “great” religions race toward armageddon.

The world ‘out there’ sure has a way of pulling us away from our own sovereignty. We blame the leaders, identifying ourselves as victims of circumstance, without ever realizing just how much power we are giving away—in the form of time, energy, attention, and pointless conversations. What if we took all that back? What would our lives look like? What if we were able to harness it all to begin building a life with the materials of our dreams? What if…

For myself, in the midst of all my mid-life transits, time-lord shifts, and only the gods know what else, I find myself closer than I’ve ever been to calling a piece of land my own, with a modest home, and room to expand into myself forever. One of the most persistent and annoying karmas I’ve been dealing with throughout my life is terrible landlords, and even worse neighbors. It hasn’t been all, but it’s been most. I’ve always envisioned a time in my life where I’m completely free of this karma—a situation where I’m able to create a nest, a temple, and a stress-free environment to at least get a taste of what could be possible in my own kingdom. I never held on too strongly to the vision, but trusted someday it would come. It may be here, and yes, these squares back it up. It does feel like a crisis, yet it’s a fight I’m willing to step into the ring for. And it’s happening to all of us, somewhere, somehow. You just need to find them in your chart to begin constellating all the stories that exist around it.

So find Jupiter who is now in Cancer and look 90 degrees back in the zodiac to discover Saturn and Neptune in Aries. Where they point, we will go. Any planets in that direction will come alive. It’s one of the biggest pivots of the year, and it’s happening now. Can you see how they have provided you with a perfect crisis to grow into the next phase? Is it now obvious how Saturn and Neptune have sparked a fire in you, and how it’s going to take an exalted Jupiter in Cancer to tend to that flame, not allowing it to devour all in its path? Are you grounded in it? Do you feel sovereign? These are the questions I’m asking myself. It’s big. It’s exciting. And it’s the reason why I haven’t had a moment to write or podcast over the past month. I’m tending to something else at the moment, and if I’m right, it’s going to be the most conducive foundation I’ve ever had for this work I love doing. So I’m not gone, nor am I on hiatus. I’m just manifesting a dream. I appreciate those of you who have stuck around for it.
