Lord Byron once said of Sintra, that it’s a “glorious Eden,” and he ought to know; the poet overstayed his vacation here by three years precisely because it’s said that Sintra is as close to paradise as one will get while alive. Understandably, being a British poet visiting such a place of extreme contrast. Funny enough, I just got sent a video from Tansy today showing a combination of extreme rain and hail sloshing down in Devon; I then sent back a peaceful breeze of an afternoon here in the lunar mountains of Sintra. It pangs me at times that we live in rain clouds, but it does have its redeeming qualities as well. Many, in fact.
Enough about the terrestrial weather, and onto the celestial kind. The big, yearly shift for Jupiter is about to occur this Sunday (May 26th) as it leaves Taurus in the dust and flies into Gemini. The last time it was here was in 2012. I remember well, being a Gemini. There were so many ideas floating about regarding Mayan prophecies and timewaves associated with psychedelic philosophers. At the time, not much seemed to have happened, but in retrospect, so much actually did. There are countless charts that show it clearly, and they all seem to relate to the uptick in social media and the shrinking of our computers onto our phones, and then into our pockets. Ideas got new wings and the verdict is still out whether that’s been a good thing as a result. It’s all debatable.
I know for myself, having already started the podcast and doing my astrological practice before that time, it was the year when air really starting to catch my sails. It was the first year I had a full-time practice. It was the first year there was a major uptick in the listeners of the show. It was a good year all in all, which is usually the case when the “greater benefic” cruises across our Sun. And so I say to all my Gemini’s out there, may this be the best year yet! May another strong breeze catch your sails and your ideas make it into the minds of countless people who need them.
Venus and Jupiter will also come together on the 23rd in the final degree of Taurus for an anaretic embrace. Soon after, she will move into Gemini, then Jupiter days later. A moment of sensuous remembrance before the seeds are again thrown to the wind. Venus could use the touch, being that she is on the other side of the Sun currently, longing and a bit lost in her underworld moment.
And speaking of Suns, it’s this Sun-day, when we will be continuing our exploration of the Vimshottaris Dasha cycle with the Mahadasha of the Sun. It’s starting to become clear for many who are joining the classes that yes, this technique is indeed the most magical artifact in all of astrology. I have always said there is nothing quite like it. More on that below.
Thanks for opening

My fingers are crossed... my Moon, IC and then my Sun are waiting with open arms for Jupiter's return embrace. 2012-13 was a real mixed bag for me. I was in a bad car accident in January of 2013 that still affects me, my dog died traumatically in the spring but my oldest daughter graduated from college, I had lots of good mountain adventures and a few memorable road trips. I'd like to request a little less trauma this time around.
May it be beautiful☀️
