The plot twist to my eclipse was a change of plans. Initially, a group of us were to head into the mountains around Taos and celebrate this eclipse as we did back in 2017 with the Great American: ceremony all night without sleep and diving into the river or spring during the actual eclipse. It didn’t happen this time.
Instead, Tansy and I woke with the Sun and headed up to Rainbow Lakes on the Continental Divide. It was cold. It wasn’t on the exact path of the eclipse. And it was without the ceremony, but she got to see her first eclipse—and seemingly everyone else up at the trailhead.
There were dozens of mountain-heads gearing up for a trip and none of them seemed to have a clue what was happening. There we were, taking little peeks at the eclipse as it was happening with our glasses, and there they were stealing glances at us, probably thinking we were nuts. In the maximum though, we brought the glasses over to them and had them take a look. They were so excited. Passing the glasses around, an entire trailhead of a dozen or more people were ‘gawking’ at the eclipse; I dragon-pilled them (and I know, I know, I say to not gawk, but if you’ve never seen one, it’s nice to see a miracle from time to time).
All in all, it was beautiful to see so many people witness an eclipse for the first time. Our quiet plan for it turned social, and it was Libran—and it was good.
How did you spend yours? Practicing like a good yogi? Neck deep in some sacred waters? In bed?
Anyways, thank you for opening. Below you will find some more interesting items I hope.

It’s a Libran theme! I shared my glasses with loads of passersby at the park near my house. Another family member was having brunch and passing glasses to the staff and other diners.
It was too cloudy to see where I was, but we shared some conversation and family the in the park, low key Libran and finding joy for sure
