Dump & Sword
...On the narrative in full swing in Libra
Until recently, all the planets were retrograde except for Mars. Venus stationed direct on my way back to CO (Sep 3rd) and Mercury stationed on Friday. I found it compelling that Mars was the only one moving forward—in the home stretch of his own synodic cycle—even if “debilitated.” Ketu (south node) is also co-present with Mars in Libra. It is where the moon is as I write as well. So, I’d like to reflect a bit here.
Ever since Mars moved into Libra, I’ve noticed a clear theme spreading throughout our lives, which is something like a peak of a crisis. Some feel trapped, some feel like it’s time to capitulate, and many of us are simply tired. Whatever Mars is pointing at with his sword must be addressed; whether it’s a line drawn in the earth or an actual battle, it’s time. With Ketu and the pending Total Solar Eclipse in Libra (Oct 14th), there is a pretty large chute to be tossing our old stories down (for me, it’s my books and an entire storage unit filled with dusty stuff, infested with tiny mouse turds; it’s happening in my 2nd house). It’s the dump and the sword situation.
Finding Libra in your chart to contemplate this theater of dragons, intense confrontations, and prickles is not time wasted. There is something profound happening here. It’s not a bad time for a reading either Always, at the event horizon of a dragon hole (eclipse season), it is wise to have a check-in up there. Finding an astrologer you can trust can be hard, but it’s easier now than ever. Trust yourself in this process.
The dump will become a fertile garden,
the sword—a sheathed security.
Oh, and Venus in the Front Range was my first reunion being back. In my jetlagged middle of the night walk tripping over frogs (literally), there she was—that crazy diamond who rules none other than Libra. It’s just different when you are a mile high. The southwest of England doesn’t compare to these big skies. I’m pretty sure they are what helped me become an astrologer. Don’t forget to look up!
More soon and more to find below.

Listen now (77 mins) | Amanda Walsh returns to the show for the second time to share with us some good insights about the Maui fire and explore with me the incessant concern of AI for our field. We do have a chart for the fire, but if you have a more accurate chart, please email it to me. I hope you enjoy our conversation.

It's that time again when the moon becomes "super" by coming a bit closer and is kind to those who are near-sighted. Perigee is the term and it happens with nearly half of the full moons each year. When the moon is perigee it's around 25k miles closer to Earth, thus making it bigger and brighter (approximately 14 percent larger and 30 percent brighter i…
There is this idea in evolutionary biology that an organism can manifest its genes outside itself, thus shaping the environment. Richard Dawkins presented the idea in his 1982 book entitled The Extended Phenotype. He speaks of a few ways this comes to be: changing the environment (beaver dams, termite cathedrals etc.; manipulating other org…
Listen now (90 min) | In this show, Mark Jones returns! We could consider this one to be the 10th anniversary for us; it was back in 2013 when we first met via the pod, having finally met in person in 2019 to deepen our rapport. Now, officially an IRL ally, I try to make it up to Wales as often as possible to hang and record if it's in the air. During this visit, it was d…
Listen now (70 min) | In this show, we revisit the Leo star point of the Venus cycle. The last one on the subject was 8 years ago—in the Summer of 15'. They could be listened back to back, or stand alone. It's my hope that this exploration helps build some wyrd context for when Venus gets close.
