There are many ways in which we could say the world has lost its way, yet it’s sometimes the most superficial examples that can speak the clearest. The current lobbing back-and-forth insults about the other party being weird has got to be one such example.
I remember a time when being called weird was a compliment. And I try to remember the time when the spelling was different and it pointed at the web of energies that weaves this whole reality together. But now, “you are weird” is meant to be the ultimate insult? Strange (or weird).
It’s indeed weird to talk with plants or planets, yet it’s an old-time activity that gets us to know the wyrd; It’s weird to have dreams that speak with us, yet it’s one of the best ways for the wyrd to get our attention. It’s supposed to be weird if you don’t fit in, yet it’s by following the wyrd you actually find your way. So, whether it’s weird or wyrd, I think many of us would agree, we are all about the wyrd, and yes, it’s about to get even weirder.
Speaking of talking to planets, Mercury is getting close. Pre-shadow vibes in the cuspy zone between Virgo/Leo have been slowly acquainting us to what’s to come. Now, one of the best ways to navigate this confusing space is to actually establish a relationship with Mercury. Talk to him. Listen to what is said. The language is often symbolic, but it’s saturated with meaning and is as wyrd as it gets. Keep in mind where it’s happening in your chart as well. It will help you translate the messages.
For me, it’s one of the most exciting times of the year. We get 3 to 4 of them and they are never boring. The conversations I’ve had with Hermes over the years have changed my mind about everything—especially having helped to create an impervious protection around anyone thinking I’m weird. As an astrologer, we learn to embrace this early. For us, this is high praise. For those who take it as an insult or sling it as one, cannot be trusted. They don’t know the wyrd.
Thanks for opening. Many wyrd portals lie below.

If you missed the release of my latest podcast, you can listen to it here. It’s with a new guest to the show, Joe Landwehr. A very interesting conversation. Unfortunately, I don’t think Vesta is self-illuminating. If anyone has any links, please let me know.
The Age of Uncertainty with Joe Landwehr
In this podcast, Joe Landwehr joins me to talk about this Age of Uncertainty—which is also part of the title of his latest book. He has over 50 years of experience with Astrology and takes a similar mythopoetic approach as I do. I'm glad he found me and reached out. It was a real treat to speak with him. Enjoy...and check out his book as well.

I've been thinking similarly, Adam! I've taught my kids to consider being called weird is a compliment! Glad they're not overly subjected to American politics here in the Antipodes... Thanks for the reminder: contact Mercury with words!
