A Week of Distillation
In the wake of the Full Moon/Mars eclipse thingy, we wane as they do; And Mercury makes some calls
Victor Hugo, the French writer and rumored Grand Master of the Priory of Sion once wrote, "Nothing is more powerful than an idea whose time has come." It’s hard to discount the power of an Idea that arrives at the perfect time. We all have stories of when we first learned about astrology or bitcoin or [favorite Idea]. They change us entirely. When we find an author who speaks our language, there’s nothing comparable. When we find a podcast that covers all we are interested in, yet has an angle or an Idea that we didn’t even know we yearned for, that experience is priceless. And what’s wild is we can track this entire process within the Mercury synodic cycle.
Every 120 days or so, Mercury stations retrograde in the western sky (next: Dec 29th, 24º Capricorn). It then falls from the sky, disappears, and emerges before sunrise near the end of the Rx period. This space of Mercury’s little magic trick is also when the planet is traveling closest to Earth. It’s a time with a high probability of this Idea Hugo is talking about, arriving.
I’ve come to understand the whole Mercury cycle as an alchemical process around Ideas that come to claim us. From calcination to coagulation, all 7 steps of the journey can be noticed (see my classes on the subject HERE). When the feathered Magi returns to the evening sky, it’s a transition from fermentation to distillation; in other words, the strength of the Idea is tested and transforms the substrate (our minds) and what is lifted is a spirit distilled that constellates a potent understanding of the world which didn’t exist before. Again, this happens every 120 days if we are paying attention.
Being that Mercury is now getting comfortable in the evening sky with Venus, I thought we’d go down that Dragon Hole today. There are some important aspects happening with him this week as well. Let’s fly into it.
See how Mercury is ahead of the Sun in the Zodiac? At 6º of Cap, it’s roughly 17º ahead of the Sun. It varies for all planets, but they all need to be a certain distance from the Sun to escape its rays. The distance is biggest with Mercury because of its brightness. So what this shows, is how Mercury has now entered the final phase of its cycle. From now until the retrograde conjunction(inner conjunction) in early 23’, we remain in the cycle which began on September 23rd at 00º LIbra. It was around this past Equinox when the big Idea would have been attempting to inoculate your imagination. Here are a few hacks to finding it:
Ask: What was I reading around that time? How have those Ideas led you to where you are now? What was your learning? And to take it deeper, find where it happened in your chart, and inquire further once equipped with the astrological intel.
Once you see it, you can’t un-see it. It’s a remarkable insight. And some of the cycles are more eventful than others. It really depends on multiple factors. You can study it in a mundane way as well, but it’s much easier-even more profound to try with ourselves first. It’s hard to think about what Idea claimed the world (in a mundane sense); Although, back in late February of 2020, there was indeed a Rx period in Pisces that kick-started the pandemic. That idea would have been COVID. Jump ahead to June of that same year, and the reflections would have been profound if thought of in this way.
This week, Mercury will make 3 notable contacts from his evening star position. The first two happen on Thursday the 15th of December:
Mercury square Chiron (11º Cap/Aries)
Mercury trine Rahu (11º Cap/Taurus)
The crisis with Chiron often orbits around the defeating ideas of our not being smart enough or having the capacity to communicate our message to the world. It will be a tremendous opportunity to grind out some of the issues in our minds. Rahu is there to immediately offer a glimpse of what comes when we do the Chiron work. Rahu-or, the North Node of the Moon-is always there to coax us into a better story. But to have stories worthy of constellations, we must face the dragon. And that is usually a complicated experience.
And then he will trine Uranus on Saturday the 17th. Genius can simply be seen as looking at a subject in an entirely unique way. If we can lock our ego away for this encounter with the Muse, we could capture lightning. We all have special vantage points in and around the world, it’s just our little voices and the madness of groupthink that too often gets in the way. This trine is a glimpse of what is possible. A maturation in our thinking and an intimate moment with our difference.
So, let’s see how some of these themes have been bubbling up as we integrate from last week’s Mars eclipse and push ahead with distilling some truly powerful ideas.
.: Twitter Files cont… :.
Elon, who has both Saturn and Venus in Gemini, was of course at the top of the news all week again. Just after the first part of the release, when corpo media was calling it a nothing burger, and just before the Gemini Full Moon when the Jim Baker piece snuck in there, Bari Weiss released her part on shadowbanning proofs. Part 3 has also emerged dealing with the mischief around the Red King’s account. It’s been wild, and it totally relates to what we were talking about above. It’s proof that we were being gaslit. Lots of this is what we already knew (or assumed) was happening not just on Twitter, but on all social media, now we know for certain. What will come of it, only Mercury knows. If you haven’t read them, they are eye-opening and definitely contain more meat than a ‘nothing burger.”
.: On Goblin Mode :.
The privileged man/child who has been on a disastrous media tour this past week has successfully dug his own grave it seems. Aside from being the most pathetic liar I’ve ever witnessed, his going against his lawyer’s suggestions to not do what he is doing, very likely is going to blow up in his face. The only distillation coming from this phase of the Mercury cycle for Scam is more evidence to indite him. We learned a lot this past week and will likely learn more when he appears in front of congress this coming week. But here are a couple of bits:
Also, Kevin O’Leary, known as Mr. Wonderful of Shark Tank, admitted to receiving 15 million from Mr. Fraud to be a positive talking head for FTX. He’s the nut job that lost a quarter billion in this fiasco and has been publicly defending SBF ever since the collapse. Absolute clown show. It will be interesting to see if he will have to return the money in bankruptcy filings. The same will then have to be done with the tens of millions given to the Dems publicly, and the Republicans in the dark. Let’s not forget, Mercury is also heading for Pluto in the sky. This rot is going to get stinkier and more disgusting the closer we get to Pluto is my sense. Welcome, again, to a Pluto Return.
.: Africa & a pioneer species :.
The African Bitcoin Conference happened this past week. it was put on by the Human Rights Foundation and looked amazing. I watched many of the lectures and it gave me the hopium needed to make it through yet another gloomy week of the Bear. Here’s what the corpo news reported about it:
One of my favorite podcasts is called What Bitcoin Did. I have learned more from these conversations about the world than I have from any other show out there. And the latest episode with Brandon Quittem is a mind-bender. If you consider yourself an environmentalist and you are interested in a healthier future on this planet, it’s a must-listen. Mercury approved:
As we Bitcoiners like to say, “we come from the gains, and stay for the revolution.” We’d all be lying if we didn’t enter this space because of some promise of a return. But what is so magical about Bitcoin is that it changes you in the most surprising of ways. We all have our stories. With Mercury in Aquarius in the BTC chart and both Mercury and Pluto headed there at the beginning of 23’, I can’t help but be bullish on the humanitarian/environmental potentials of what this open protocol is going to create. Here’s an interesting chart to show just where we are at price wise because I know you are interested:
Someone named Cryptonoob created this. What it clearly shows is that if we continue to repeat history, which we have yet to break away from, the bottom is NEAR. The macro story is scary, recession is certain at this point, so it’s hard to say, but I know what I’m betting on for the future of our species…and it ain’t Doge.
That’ll do it. The ball is in Mercury’s court this week. I hope that you got inspired to put in the work to figure out this whole Mercury Cycle. Victor Hugo is not wrong: there is nothing more powerful than an Idea whose time has come. I hope you find it
I’m always open to feedback. Still finding my way in writing these. Yet, it seems lots of you are reading them. I’m open to the good stuff, the bad stuff, and the in-between. I look forward to hearing from you.

Always learn something from your writing Adam- I think my idea is forming around the feminine Soul and how we shift eons of patriarchal dominance into a greater value for the true feminine way of being in the world.. that can only enhance both Men and Women and how we see ourselves and each other.. it’s really showing up personally for me as well especially in my very patriarchal family ☺️
So much great stuff thank you!
