A Week of Cardinal Crossover
Both Jupiter and the Sun cross the Aries Point, Chiron makes a move in the opposite direction, and no vegan meals in hell (I mean a Bahamian jail)
The pre-Julian calendars of ancient Rome only had 10 months. From the end of December to the start of March (Solstice to Equinox, basically) was just a winter gap, a slumber. This is because ancient calendars were primarily agricultural, and the wintery eraser of Time reflected the winter fallow. Enter the seasonal myths that were prevalent in many ancient cultures like Persephone’s time in the Underneath, the Hopi’s Blue Corn Maiden who was taken by the smitten Winter Katchina who boarded up his home with ice and snow to protect her, and even the birth of Christ. All stories, perfectly in Time with the tilt and wobble of our orbiting home on Earth.
When the Sun moves into Tropical Capricorn on the Winter Solstice, every day following until the Summer Solstice grows lighter, and at the midpoint of that journey, we have the Equinoxes. In the Spring, the Sun moves into Aries; Fall, Libra. Each one of these ingresses is important for various reasons. The one I’d like to focus on this week is the Aries Point.
Some may rightfully think it only relates to 00º of Aries, but it actually includes all the Cardinal starting points (00º Aries, Cancer, Libra, Capricorn). It’s the moment when the Mutable congeals and something novel begins in a Cardinal direction.
An example of the importance of the Aries Point can be clearly seen in the importance mundane astrologers give to the chart cast from it in the year. The moment the Sun moves into Aries, that’s the chart for the year. it’s an ancient idea that is still used today. You can do the same with all the Equinoxes and Solstices, but the Sun ingress of the Aries point is the most popular.
In natal charts, it’s said to be a bridge between the personal and the collective. If planets are on it, they become the channels through which we send our message to the world-some even calling it the “fame” point. According to Robert Hand, “If one ever becomes famous or makes a significant impact on the society outside one’s circle of friends and associates, it’s through planets/or angles that relate to the Aries Point.”
And so, this week we’ve got both Jupiter and the Sun crossing it. Jupiter will explode on the scene at 00º Aries and the Sun will “stand still” for that brief moment in Time, before six months of rising ahead. The chart to see it forming:
As you can see, Jupiter has but 11’ minutes left before he returns to Aries. This will happen on the 20th (Tuesday). Then, the Solstice on the 21st and their square on the 22nd. Any time Jupiter moves into a new Sign (which is annual) it’s important to note; it’s also important to add to the notes any major aspects to it. So we have Jupiter square the Sun this Solstice. And on the 23rd, a New Moon-one which seems to inspire Chiron to change direction (station direct).
The crisis between Jupiter/Sun at the moment is one of integration and the attempt of using this time of the year to get “kidnapped” by some wintery force, pulling us ever deeper into a center near our ground state. It’s too easy these days to allow the Machine to tamper with our seasonal rhythms, tricking us to think it’s always a good time to be out there, striving with the rest. It’s a lie. And there are many of these inside us; many more baked within our societies.
I often think of Chiron as the one who serves us the medicine to be able to spot these lies. Whether it’s a collective transit like Chiron stationing direct this week or a personal one to our own charts, this clear-eyed centaur has an uncanny ability to show us precisely where we are lying to ourselves. It’s the tripwire and c4 we’ve unconsciously set up for ourselves. All self-sabotage, all defeating stories, none of which are true at the core. So perhaps with the change of direction alongside all the Aries Point activations, we will catch a glimpse, and realize how we can make the biggest impact on our worlds.
.: Take me home! :.
I can’t remember the last time I became elated when someone was arrested. It’s a dark feeling. But this week, I relished it. Many of us did. After his mini, unsuccessful, “Apology Tour” the not-so-sneaky goblin was arrested and thrown in Bahamian jail without bail. It’s still early to know just how long he will see, but it had me interested in the Aries point in his chart.
Technically, SBF has zero planets on the AP. Mercury is the closest at 4º Aries. But, he is in his Saturn return and Chiron is stationing direct on his Moon, which is at 12º Aries. It makes me wonder if you are allowed your uppers and downers in prison. Do they cater to your dietary preferences? There will be a confrontation with lies. Hopefully, there will be healing as well.
And so now, after just a few days of experiencing the truest polarity of rags to riches reversed imaginable, he seems eager to escape to “better” quarters:
The Capricorn New Moon on Friday (1º Cap) will be just a few degrees away from his North Node. We don’t know his time, so not sure what house. My brother once spent Xmas in jail. It changed him. I wonder what this one will do for little-man Fried?
.: The New Name which cannot be Named :.
One of the most remarkable shames about this chapter of human history is the inability to freely speak one’s mind. You can, but the consequences are dire. it crept on me back in 2017 with Jordan Peterson. I had no idea that he was seen as a demon incarnate from the “progressive” Left, but I sure found out quickly after mentioning him on one of my podcasts. In the same way, we are seeing the transformation from a somewhat neutral political figure, one who claims to be helping humanity, and also has historically been a hero for the green movement, supposedly become far-right, and one of the most dangerous people on planet Earth. Oh, it’s interesting.
We are seeing the absolute destruction of nuance in the West followed by a complete inability to interact with those with opposing views. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, I’m not a champion of Elon Musk; I don’t drive a Tesla, I have zero desire to go to Mars, and I won’t be first in line to get neurolinked, yet what is occurring with the Twitter Files is crucial. My neck is starting to hurt from shaking my head. Why are so many people missing the importance of this?
We don’t know Elon’s time. He has zero planets on the Aries point, which you may expect otherwise if we were to take seriously the “fame” signature of it. He is going through his Chiron return though. Just a degree away currently. There are lots I could say about that, but I’ll save it for class tonight.
.: The Greatest Creation of All Time :.
Recently, the Red King (aka Trump) dropped his first NFT collection on us. And boy were they hard to miss:
I know what your thinking: There’s no way that he could have laser eyes (a bitcoin culture thing). Not even a year ago when asked about crypto after Melania dropped her own NFT’s, he basically called it all a scam, and how he loved the dollar. Well, not any longer it seems. I wonder if it was the 99% drop in value NFT’s have seen in 12 months that made him think it was a good idea. Whatever the case, they sold out in a day. 45,000 unique Red King NFT’s. The one above was made by Beeple (not official).
The Red King doesn’t have any planets on the Aries point either. I’m starting to doubt this theory, Mr. Hand. He does have Uranus coming for his Midheaven though. 2024! Oh dear, can you believe it?
.: quick note :.
According to Fortune and a small study that was just done:
Thought it was fake news. Nope. So if you can believe it, with Jupiter soon to be in Aries and Mars still retrograde, we better all be extra aware of all those extremely dangerous unvaccinated drivers on the road. It makes perfect sense. All of it does. The world has never been so sensible.
.: And….your Orange Pill :.
Bitcoin has continued to trade sideways as the macro economy braces for the severe recession ahead. Old man J. Powell over there at the FED isn’t cutting rates fast enough for those starving for risk. His aim remains on the high inflation that he created. Until it’s tampered down to the criminal 2% average, it’s more pain ahead for all risk assets, and unfortunately for Bitcoin and the rest as well. It doesn’t stop all the great building and content that is still coming out though.
Btw, BTC has Pluto at 1º of Capricorn and the Moon at 4º Aries. We have an AP match! It’s famous for dying every year and coming to life once again, stronger and harder to stop than before. Sounds a bit like Christos. Not entirely, but you get the idea. I think JC would have been a bitcoiner.
Here’s an inspiring little speech from Natalie Smolenski:
And a useful chart to show roughly where BTC is at in its adoption curve:
In writing this, I realized I’ll need to watch the Aries Point a bit closer moving forward. I’m not sure I totally agree with Mr. Hand and Noel Tyl about this assessment. I’ve seen it in the past, but that doesn’t make it true. I’d love to hear your thoughts. And thank you for reading another Dragon Hole. I hope you clicked a bunch of links and found yourself lost among interesting ideas.
Happy Holidayz!

Love these ponderings Adam! I picked up my son from his fathers this morning and the first thing he told me was about Trump's NFT collection and then showed me some of the images and I swear I am not shocked but I cannot help myself from feeling shocked. I was looking at the Aries point today trying to understand the reason for Draconic Astrology and why the NN on Aries point is used. I get it but I have to admit, I do not understand. The nodal axis moves backwards. The NN is home in Ardra at the Summer Solstice. The only thing I have been famous for is leaving the story of the girl who had a seagull poop in her mouth when she looked up at the birds on a boat on lake Michigan during her 8th grade class trip on April Fools Day and the girl who left the legacy of speed bumps in her high school parking lot after being hit by a van going 40mph while walking to school on April Fools Day her Freshman year and traumatizing everyone as she stumbled across the campus with her face covered in blood and smiling and waving at everyone telling them she was ok and did not need any help. I think my most favorite image in this post is the one where you have Jupiter and Chiron tucked inside the Aries Glyph or perhaps it the constellation of Pisces? Chiron and Jupiter tucked in the middle there where the ancient egyptians saw The Field, the Great Square in Pegasus, The Funeral Pyre in Vedic. I have been thinking about Pegasus and the Huma Bird in Persian Mythology "The Bird of Fortune" who like the phoenix undergoes death and rebirth from its ashes. The Huma Bird is depicted above the throne of Sultans because it is said that whomever is overshadowed by the shade of the bird will become like that of a King but even a good man/woman aka Human, with all the love in their heart, without wisdom, falls victim to the guidance of fear and it is through the experiences fear offers that the seed of wisdom finds the nutrients it needs to grow. I like the lyrics to Iron and Wine's Love Song of the Buzzard "The Spring time and the promise of an open fist, a tattoo of a flower on a broken wrist, Lucy tells me jokingly to wipe her brow, with a pocket map to heaven as the sun goes down" not sure if this of any use as you question the use of the Aries Point. Maybe it is a Fall into Grace and not the Rise of Fame.
